What can you expect from a Professional Chaplain?
A Professional Chaplain is Educated, Endorsed, Experienced and understands what it means to work in a multi-faith environment.
Educated: Our Chaplains have received a Masters of Divinity or equivalent degree, and many have earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from an accredited Seminary or institution. These degrees specifically prepare them for faith based ministry. Many Chaplains also have secondary Masters level degrees such as Pastoral Counseling.
Endorsed: Our Chaplains are endorsed by a Federally recognized Endorsing Agent - the same recognition required by the Military. This means that each Chaplain belongs to a legitimate and internationally recognized organization and has met requirements and standards of that organization to include education, background checks, and personal and professional recommendations.
Experienced: Our Chaplains have a track record. They have at minimum 5-10 years of supervised ministry. Most of our Chaplains have already served a career in the Military or in another capacity as a Chaplain. They understand ministry, and they are experts. They know what it means to serve a wide variety of people in a complex and challenging environment. They have what it takes.
Multi-faith Environment: You can call it multi-faith, you can call it pluralistic, it simply means that every Chaplain will respect the faith of each person they meet including people who do not claim a faith. Chaplains are not there to proselytize or evangelize. Chaplains are not there to criticize or debate. Chaplains are there to care for and help facilitate the faith of anyone they encounter.
